Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) has launched new promotion trying to get members to stay at Tribute Portfolio properties.
SPG members that register for the promotion by October 16 and stay between August 1 – October 31, 2016, can earn double Starpoints.
You can register for this offer on SPG’s website here.

Note that this offer is open for all as it is promoted on SPG’s Tribute Portfolio home page.
You normally earn two Starpoints per USD charged (before any possible elite bonuses). The base points are then double to total four per USD charged under this promotions.
Conclusion
There are just nine Tribute Portfolio hotels now and few more about to join. I would assume that this brand will bite the dust soon after the Marriott takeover of Starwood is completed and these hotels then move under the Autograph Collection brand.
Here are the terms and conditions:
REGISTRATION: SPG® members must register online at spg.com/tributeportfolio by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on October 16, 2016. Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® for every eligible stay between August 1, 2016, and October 31, 2016 (the “Promotion Period”), at participating Tribute Portfolio™ hotels and resorts. All participating hotels and resorts can be found at tributeportfolio.com and are subject to change.
EARNING: Registered members will earn double Starpoints on eligible stays of one or more consecutive nights. With double Starpoints, a member will earn four (4) total Starpoints per eligible US$1 spent. Elite-level extra Starpoints earnings and other bonuses will not be doubled. Only the base two-Starpoints-per-dollar earnings will be doubled. There is no limit on the number of total double bonus Starpoints a member can earn as long as there is an eligible stay during the promotional period. Offer is eligible with other Starpoints promotions; however, each offer will award bonus Starpoints independently of each other.
BONUSING: Bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member’s account within 2–4 weeks after the qualifying stay posts.
ELIGIBLE STAYS: An Eligible Stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying an Eligible Rate in the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur and posts to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest® account. An Eligible Rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program. A description of SPG-participating hotels and resorts and of Eligible Stays and Eligible Rates can be found at spg.com under Terms & Conditions of the SPG program. See Section 1.4 biii for the complete definition of Eligible Rates. Note that certain room reservations — e.g., when the booking is made through a third party, including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com and delta.com — are not considered Eligible Rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify for promotional earnings. Stays must be booked through any Starpoints-eligible channel, including travel professionals who book through GDS. This is the only way to earn double Starpoints and get our best rates.
