Starwood has interesting rate promotion that is tied to the last two digits of your birth year. You pay full rate for the first night and the second night costs the last two digits of your birth year.
This rate offer is valid at participating properties in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
You can access this offer on Starwood’s website here.
Note that some hotels may ad $100 to the second night and this rate plan seems to be available mainly during the weekends at most hotels.
The initial screen shows the rate and the days that the rate should be available. I did find, however, that the rate was often available on other dates as well, so you should check the actual bookings screen to find actual availability.
Here are some rate examples
W Montreal
The “Pay Your Birth Promo” rate is highly inflated at this property but still can save cash over two night stay compared to the other rates offered.
W New York
This hotel ads $100 to your birth year but the rate itself seem to be tied to the best flexible rate.
Sheraton Puerto Rico
This property has numerous rates loaded. It was interesting that when you only search for PAYAGE rates it returns two rates for this plan. If you do wider search, it only returns the $229 one and not the $199 one.
Conclusion
This is one of those rate plans that you should check when making two night reservations over the weekend. It can sometimes save you few bucks here and there.
