Singapore Airlines and Marriott now allow two-way conversions between KrisFlyer frequent flyer and Bonvoy frequent guest programs.
Marriott Bonvoy, previously Marriott Rewards and SPG, members have been able to convert points to miles with many airline partners, including Singapore Airlines, forever. You have not been able to convert miles to points, however.
You can access Marriott here and Singapore Airlines here.
Singapore Airlines & Marriott Bonvoy Conversion Ratio:
The 3 points to 1 airline mile is the usual conversion ratio with Bonvoy, and you get 5,000 bonus miles when you convert 60,000 points at a time.
The conversion ratio of 2 miles for 1 Bonvoy is awful, however. This only makes sense if you have no other use for KrisFlyer miles that are about to expire (they have hard expiry + paid one-time extension is possible).
Marriott recently launched two-way conversion with Korean Air and Cathay Pacific:
- Korean Air SKYPASS Miles Can Be Converted To Marriott Bonvoy Points
- Marriott Bonvoy & Cathay Pacific Asia Miles Two Way Conversion Launched
Conclusion
It is always good to have more conversion partners, although I would value KrisFlyer mile a lot more than the implied value of 0.4 cents each under this offer.
KrisFlyer miles have hard expiry (they have been rolled for a couple of years due to the pandemic), and some will start vanishing from member accounts later this year if they are not used by then.
