World of Hyatt just opened a new promotion offering to buy points at a 25% bonus on all purchases through March 25, 2023.
The maximum amount of points that can be bought has now been changed back to 55,000 per calendar year after being briefly doubled for the recent promotion.
The new calendar year has just begun so if you make such a purchase right now it will count toward the entire 2023 allowance to purchase.

You can access this offer and check your bonus or discount on Hyatt’s website here.
The cost of a World of Hyatt point purchased under this offer at 25% off is 1.92 cents each. During the previous sale, the price of a point was 1.8 cents, and before that one was 1.68 cents.
Does it make sense to purchase points at this price?
It only makes sense if you use them at costly Hyatt properties such as the Park Hyatt Maldives, Kyoto, or Tokyo. However, sometimes the lower category properties can often make sense when the paid rates are high. Otherwise, buying at such a high price makes only limited sense.
Award rooms with Hyatt are available as long as standard rooms are available for sale. This means that points are usually a good value if something is going on in the city, bringing the paid rates throughout the roof.
It’s worthwhile to check what the current points rates are if you have a particular stay in mind. With Hyatt now having introduced Peak/Off-Peak awards, there is no longer a firm amount of points, and this can make or break the case if it’s worthwhile to redeem, let alone buy points.
This particular pricing isn’t as great as the previous campaigns and unless you have a particular plan of how to use the points maybe it would be better to wait until the next round.
In order to get the 25% bonus the minimum purchase is 5,000 points with a maximum of the annual 55,000 points limits (not counting any bonuses).
Conclusion
Hyatt sells its points at a bonus or discounts more or less continuously throughout the year. So, if you don’t need World of Hyatt points right now, you can always buy them later when (hopefully) a slightly better offer is around.
Usually, Hyatt alternates their promotional campaigns between a discount and a bonus amount for the points purchases. This is a significantly higher price than what they sold them last time. I would take a pass unless you need points right now.
