Transfers to pre-merger Starwood points offered greater value. True value of 1 Starwood point = 3 Marriott points. Unfortunately, post-merger that value was not fully realized.
Most of us in this hobby would typically jump on 60k SPG sub cards – only a 180k Marriott sub card would be comparable, which neither Amex nor Chase have offered.
