It’s CX F, they literally kneel on every interaction. And the one time I made a suggestion to a FA, I promptly received a follow up. So yeah, there’s a real expectation of a follow up in this case.

I’m pretty sure CX not just ordered just one bottle of champagne. During pandemic there was many layoffs with service providers like catering. Now that everything is picking up rapidly all of them are struggling with new people without experience.

Generally speaking, J or P benefits from seat comfort and service.

But if you want to have a great food experience (and possibly drink well), there is no better place than gastronomic restaurant rather than any plane.

What I do not understand is the complain about the meal choice. I‘ve never flown CF but if you fly first on LH you can see the menu they will serve before you fly. Did they actually wrote that they would serve something else, or do you just have the opinion that they should serve you something else? If that is the case just don‘t book an airline where you don‘t like the food.

Yes I’ve paid thousands for first class and NO I wouldn’t act like a petulant child if they ran out of champagne. I’d be an adult and ordering something else

The fact you refuse to use an app to pre-order the first class meal YOU WANT and just want to bitch that they aren’t fully stocked is YES on you

1st class should have multiple bottles of bubbly and all the applicable entrée selections but I wouldn’t burn calories over not having champagne

CX is an aspirational brand for me. I hope to fly it, some day. This story has me putting CX off for another year. I love flying EK, QR, DL, AF, KL, and EH, in different classes. I see many stories about CX history, CX during lockdowns, and contemporary CX. I imagine that CX is putting its first class experience up against EK, QR, and EH. I cannot imagine those airlines failing in the way CX did with you.

I would notice the difference in taste in the provided beverage, and I’m not even a supertaster. This year, I flew AF, which had free-flowing champagne in cattle class, and also in the CDG lounge actually served by a pair of trolley dolleys, as if I were back in the Golden Age of Travel. For CX, which has barely survived lockdowns shipping freight in the luggage hold, to not have sufficient supplies of top-shelf beverages for First Class is inexcusable.

I cannot believe no Western meal. That is a total shocker. I remember my first days of domestic economy in the last few rows, and I got whatever was left of the luke-warm dry chicken meal or the rubbery pasta meal. Yes, I now always pre-order from a huge menu (EK has over twenty-four meal options.) Only two Chinese options, and no Western option, for a meal would be utterly disgusting for me. As much as I enjoy exotic culinary experiences, I would like the option of comfort food of Western cuisine, as First Class should afford.

I wonder what food availability was in the different lounges, given that staff tried to steer you to one lounge and not the other.

I really am disgusted by this story. CX seems to being aiming towards being a second-rate has been. I mean, this is no way to operate a top-tier airline. I don’t know who is responsible. Could be too much political interference, I don’t know.
