Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) Pro has launched a new Double Double promotion for meeting planners that can earn double elite qualifying nights and points.
The offer is valid for meetings/events booked between September 1 – December 31, 2015, that are consumed by December 31, 2016. Registration for this offer closes on December 31, 2015.

Note that the double elite qualifying nights won’t count towards the SPG Gold or Platinum lifetime qualification requirements. There is also maximum number of Starpoints that one can earn per meeting/event.
Conclusion
All the hotel chains are trying to entice group planners to throw more business on their way. One option is to incentivize them more by offering bonus points and elite qualifying nights.

SPG® members must register at spg.com/double by December 31, 2015, 11:59 p.m. ET. Each eligible event must be booked between September 1, 2015, and December 31, 2015, for arrival between September 1, 2015, and December 31, 2016, (the “promotion period”) to qualify for the SPG Pro Double Double promotion.
Registered members can earn double Starpoints® and double Eligible Night credits for each Eligible Event Agreement booked and consumed during the promotion period. Elite-level extra earnings and other bonuses will not be doubled. This means registered members will earn one bonus Starpoint for every US$3 of eligible revenue, up to a maximum of 20,000 bonus Starpoints, and one bonus Eligible Night for every 20 consumed group room nights, up to a maximum of 20 bonus Eligible Nights per event. The bonus Starpoints and bonus Eligible Nights are in addition to base earnings for Eligible Event Agreements per the SPG terms and conditions.
All SPG-participating hotels and resorts are participating in the promotion.
Bonus Starpoints and bonus Eligible Nights earned under this promotion will be posted to the SPG member’s account within 6–8 weeks of the SPG-participating hotel’s posting of the base Starpoints and Eligible Nights.
The Eligible Nights earned under this promotion will not count toward the 250 total Eligible Nights needed to obtain SPG Lifetime™ Gold status or the 500 total Eligible Nights needed to obtain SPG Lifetime™ Platinum status under Sections 7.4 and 7.5 of the SPG program terms.
There is no limit to the number of eligible events for which an SPG member may earn Starpoints and Eligible Nights during the term of this promotion.
